Info for EU customers 💛
Previously, you as the buyer were responsible for paying taxes, custom fees and applicable duties when the order arrived in your country. Now everything is calculated at the checkout so you don't have to worry about any surprise fees when the parcel arrives. This means that the price you pay at the checkout is final.
All EU orders under 150 Euros will ship by IOSS (EU Import VAT scheme) and orders above 150 Euros will ship DDP (Delivered Duty Paid). Either way, your order is covered and there shouldn't be any hold ups at the border.
PLEASE NOTE! THERE ARE CHANGES AFOOT!
The European Union has experienced a significant surge in e-commerce, with an estimated 5.9 billion low-value consignments entering the bloc in 2025, the vast majority originating from China.
Currently, goods valued below €150 are exempt from import duties under the de minimis rule. This exemption has created an uneven competitive landscape, placing EU-based businesses, who pay import duties on goods, at a disadvantage compared to non-EU sellers.
To address this imbalance and modernise customs procedures, the EU is introducing a temporary fixed customs duty of €3 per item on all e-commerce parcels valued under €150, effective 1 July 2026. This measure will remain in place until the full implementation of the EU Customs Data Hub on 1 July 2028.
From 1st July 2028 onwards, standard customs duties will apply based on each product’s HS tariff code and sale price, removing the €3 per item flat-fee structure.
So what does that mean for ordering my products if you live in the EU?
I have SIX product groups that each have a different HS tariff code
- Lamps
- Candle covers
- Meadow stems and tiny treasures
- Paper pebbles and shells
- Wallpaper
- Books
So from 1st July if your total order is less than €150 you will be charged an extra €3 at the checkout for each product group within your order.
E.g. If you bought 2 candle covers you would be charged an extra €3 at checkout but if you bought two candle covers and a set of meadow stems you would be charged €6
I am currently working on getting my shopping cart to charge in the correct way but hopefully I’ll have that all figured out by the 1st July!
